Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to as was an American born British guitarist and singer who led the women-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band did not enjoy much of a following in The United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career after the band ended in 1979. Following vocal training, she debuted her own solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music as the two albums failed to draw the attention they deserved. The smash-hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, the success of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years she went under the radar. Then she returned after the release of 'Black in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' nearly 15 years after. The most recent album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
