Zoe-perry
Perry was born to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). Her first television roles were two appearances in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mother. Perry was forbidden to start acting with her parents till she reached adulthood, as they feared the stress it would result in. Perry was shy during high school and did not act. She began acting at Northwestern University to gain friends when she transferred from Boston University. Perry was able to land tiny TV roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent following her graduation. Homesickness, however, caused her to move back to California again where she began working on stage. Perry was a part of Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. Perry was in the show with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 in The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's crime thriller The Family. She had a regular role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal which starred her father. In the same year, her character was cast the younger version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger character of her mom's role. Despite her family link to the character, she was offered the part through an audition.
